Design & technology Intent and Implementation

At Fairisle Infant and Nursery School, we understand that design and technology allows our pupils to solve problems, think creatively and develop their ideas. We aim to provide a high-quality D&T education, which will engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own products.

The children are taught to design, make and evaluate as they use their knowledge and understanding to create a product around a brief. The important life skill of evaluating is a key part of the design process and allows children to adapt and improve their product. Skills are taught progressively to ensure that all children are able to learn and practice in order to develop as they move through the school.
